( This is a "repackaged" version of a very old web site I did about
some projects to my old Santana 2023C sailboat)

Bimini Top

This was pretty straighforward.

I used a 36" high, 73-78" wide, and 6 feet long right from Overton's (8003346541).

It was their stock part number 21864. Its too new to have tried it yet, but it looks like I'll be able to sail with it up (in the forward-most track position).

I put an 18 inch track in on the side deck (right up next to the coaming) so that I could put it in two different positions.

In the first position, it is all the way forward on the track and bumps up against the pop top when it is up also. Note the height match!

The two pictures show the extreme forward and extreme aft positions on the sliding track. This tells you about where the track is installed.

In either position, the bimini either lays back (lands right at the end of the cockpit seats) perfectly flat. Or it lays forward and has plenty of room to allow the full use of the jibsheets, etc.

I couldn't ask for a better match for a catalog part with no modifications!
