( This is a "repackaged" version of a very old web site I did
about
some projects to my old Santana 2023C sailboat)

Jibsheet Cleats
I guess this is standard
fare, but I replaced the stationary cleats with these swivel style with
fairleads.
-
- With the old ones, you had to
climb (usually down) to the leeward side of the boat to cleat or uncleat
them.
-
- With these, it is easier to do
from the windward side.
-
- I replaced the wood screw installation
of the old cleats with through-bolts, one of the holes was able to be
re-used.
-
- I didn't go for winches right now because
of cost and the fact that these cam cleats work fine with the kind of
sailing I normally do. For the same reasons I did not install any tracks
for the turning blocks.
