( This is a "repackaged" version of a very old web site I did
about
some projects to my old Santana 2023C sailboat)

Tiller
Extension
-
This is
about the only thing I installed exactly as the instructions told me
to. Not much for me to "alter" here. The "lock box"
for self-steering is at the maximum extension of the tiller extender
that I bought. It is really close (scary, since I didn't check that
before cutting) to not even being able to keep the tiller on center.
-
- This so-called self steering
setup will do so for about 2 to 3 minutes at a time provided:
-
- a) you sit still
- b) you spent the previous
2 to 3 minutes playing with the sail trim.
-
- It is still worth having,
though. I works somewhat better with the O/B, and is very handy for
taming the rudder movement while at anchor.
-
- Sorry about the washed
out picture. I never claimed to be a photographer.
